A woman has gone viral after sharing a hilarious photo of a cow she spotted peeking through her window, as she enjoyed breakfast one morning.

The anonymous Facebookuser took to social media to post the picture of the curious creature staring calmly through the glass, writing: 'Just looked up from my breakfast to this.' The photo was also posted on Reddit.

The perfectly-timed snap sees the cow gazing back at her as it appears to enjoy a walk through a residential Welsh town on a drizzly day.

And the picture quickly racked up 38,000 likes and over a thousand comments within a day of being posted.

The image inspired a range of jokes referring to the Cravendale milk advert, which sees cows stalking shoppers for their milk, and concludes with the tagline 'Milk so good the cows want it back'.

One user wrote: 'Holy s*** does anybody remember the old advert with this slogan? I lived in the UK in my youth and thought it was the best ad ever. Massive internet points if anyone knows where I can find that clip these days.'

Another said: 'That's udderly terrifying!', while a cheeky son-in-law joked: 'My mother-in-law must have gotten lost coming over for supper.

Pondering what the woman in question may have been having for her breakfast, another said: 'The steak and eggs for breakfast just got really awkward.'

'Eating mooosli this morning?', another wrote, while one said:'Is that a burger Karen?'.

'Where are my milk Summer?', another said, with one user replying: 'Where are my calves Summer?'.

And others imagined what the cow may be thinking, with one writing: 'What's in the cereal bowl? Is it milk? Really Paul, again? REALLY!?'

A brave husband joked: 'Locking your missus out isn't going to solve problems'.
