These were a huge hit in our home and my mom use to make these a lot. She would add whatever fruit she had in hand add lemon juice, salt and pepper, a little sugar, and an amazing healthy snack is ready. At that time Kiwi and Strawberry were not easily available in markets. so she used apple, banana, oranges, pomegranate only.
Nowadays, these two fruits have become very common especially Kiwi. Strawberry we still get in winters only for 2-3 months. So whenever we can get our hands on some strawberries we whip up some shakes, desserts or fruit salads with these.
some of your guests are calorie conscious and don’t eat cheese-laden or fried appetizers but they will happily devour these fruit salads. So serving a bowl of this Winter fruits Salad to your guests gives you a win-win situation.

Hi Nidhi,
Love the colors.
Will the lemon juice keep apples and banana from browning if I pack this as snack for school?
Thank you.

Thanks, Sailaja. A little browning and softening of fruit still happen but there is no change in taste and kids can enjoy this in 2-3 hours.
